These classes were offered by various branches of the Brooklyn Public Library.  They have been created for seniors and were taught via zoom.

"Nigel classes are nurturing and confidence building. The lesson materials for each class are very detailed and complete. Everything is well explained and it is designed for all entry level artists. The program reviews fundamentals and Nigel spends time commenting on personal works. It keeps me motivated. He is a gifted artist and teacher who will help you develop artistic skills. "

Mr. Nigel Morgan is truly a talented and an amazing Artist, which also makes him a wonderful Teacher. He teaches charcoal drawing, painting with watercolor and acrylic, drawing & painting with ink, pastel, all of which I've taken multiple times. All the courses are different and there's always something new to learn. I love how Mr. Morgan starts with the fundamentals; step by step drawing basic shapes, learning values and mixing colors and building upon that. When my work gets critiqued, I get honest feedback, not just your artwork looks great when it really isn't. Mr. Morgan tells me where I can improve on and where it looks great. I really strive to do my best in his class along with so many other students.

With the vast knowledge of art that Mr. Morgan knows, he is truly a gem. His classes get filled up so fast, within hours of his class being announced. Mr. Morgan is like a Black Friday sale, everybody waiting on line to get in on the deal, if I need to shove someone in order to get in, I will lol. You definitely won't regret taking any classes with Mr. Morgan. Even if you think you can't draw, by the end of his class you will, you will start out as a block of marble and by the end you turn into the statue of David.

Nigel's demonstrations are excellent. He explains what he is doing at a pace a student can follow. Nigel explains the color scheme and how to arrange the colors on the palate. His critiques are also very helpful. I took several classes with him online.

I have attended several of Mr. Morgan’s classes.
I have learned so much about color theory, composition, values etc. During his demonstrations he gives us step by step instructions on how to achieve the final outcome, time to work on our own and a personal critique of our work. Class is fun and challenging.

Nigel is a Great, multifaceted Artist and Teacher. His teachings encompass

many, many different styles and forms and I have learned many styles from his

virtual classes.  I am a beginner artist and have always found drawing very

hard and Nigel has taught me how to draw and paint by focusing on shapes

instead of worrying about getting the lines drawn correctly, and then to

proceed on from there.  I was pleasantly surprised with some of my completed

drawings and paintings. Whether you're a beginner student / artist or

advanced, Nigel gently pushes you to do better by critiques of your work,

always focusing on where you can do better.

My favorite class was when Nigel taught us how to make the "POP OUT" cards.  I

am sure that everyone that learns from Nigel will be very happy they found his

classes.  I know I am!!!

A talented teaching artist who is very experienced and has developed interesting art curricula and lesson plans for his workshops. Disciplined, funny, skilled, and always on point. Who you ask is this person? Nigel Morgan of course!

First, having attended many of his amazing art classes of different mediums, I favor charcoal the most. Initially I was intimidated and challenged by this medium, but Nigel made it easy, step by step, explaining, going over it again and again, encouraging, then critiquing students with his honest and non condescending gentle tone and manner. By the way, his sense of humor and easy laughter has made all of his classes fun to attend.

Secondly, I have become a more skilled and detailed drawing artist under his supervision. I revel when friends see my art work at home for the first time, since I don't tell that I paint, and they are captivated. Well, I will share and give a lot of that praise to Nigel who has helped me hone my artistic skills immensely throughout the years. I compare and see the progression I have made – again under Nigel's tutelage. Looking at his student's artwork, I've noticed how they have embraced the art techniques he has taught us that includes texture, value, color and form, amongst others. By the way, their artwork is incredible...  a testament to his teaching skills... Also some of the artwork made by Nigel is worthy of gallery exhibition in any fine institution of art.

Lastly, I make it a point to quickly register for his classes, held in person or via zoom, because I know I will come out of his classes knowing so much more than when I went in. Kudos to Nigel for his artistic abilities, kindness, sense of humor, and for loving what he does, and it shows!

Signing up for an art class with Nigel was the best decision ever! I was fortunate to study side by side with him before classes became virtual, and boy was it worth it! He is is very easy going, patient with his students and very knowledgeable. Best of all, he's the caring type of teacher, the one you wish you had in high school.

Nigel takes pride in his teaching and goes above and beyond to help his students excel no matter the level of experience they may have. For me that's what makes learning with him so special and magical.
I always look forward on taking an art class with him. Nigel is the best teacher I ever had, and will be your's too.

Thank You

Here is a note to say
we are grateful to you in many ways.
We came in not knowing how
paint can be used to make something wow.
From black and white to the color-wheel,
then full color producing something surreal.
Talents that were hidden became visible to see,
as with each lesson we discovered our creativity.
As we continue to practice
we will keep up the progress,
until a masterpiece we will possess.
So thank you for all your efforts
and patience and advice,
for all those gifts
are too valuable to price.

Sincerely,
Henny, Shana, Rochel P. and Rochel C.
